However, it is also a recipe that I often make throughout the year. It’s a breeze to prepare, and the flavors are truly irresistible.

Serve it in between two pieces of bread or in a bun for a quick and delicious sandwich. Or serve it with crackers for a snack in the middle of the day.

Feeling more creative? Then serve the egg salad in a wrap with bacon, lettuce and tomato. Or scoop out a fresh picked tomato or avocado in the middle of summer for a unique and delicious twist for a lunch time meal. The possibilities are endless!!!

Various Methods to Boil Eggs

If you don’t have leftover hard boiled eggs, you must first prepare the eggs before you can turn them into deviled egg salad. The boiling technique listed in the recipe below is just one of several methods you can use to cook eggs.

My husband prefers to put eggs in a cold pot of water and let them boil for exactly 7 minutes. Then he removes the pan from the heat and then lets them cool naturally.

I use a different method and they both turn out fantastic every time. You can use an Instant Pot or even an Air Fryer to cook eggs quickly and effortlessly.

Just be aware that if you purchase farm-fresh eggs they require a slightly different approach. Whatever method you use to make hard boiled eggs, add 3-5 minutes to the process so that they will cook properly and peel easier. I have found that this How To Boil Eggs method works for eggs that are under a week old.

However, each method has its advantages so choose the one that works best for you!

Using an ice bath right after the eggs have cooked will help the shells peel off easily.

Best Way To Peel Hard-Boiled Eggs

Peeling hard-boiled eggs to make deviled egg salad can be a challenge, but there are some tips to make the process easier. First, using an ice water bath is crucial for making peeling easier.

After cooking the eggs, immediately transfer them to an ice water bath and let them sit for at least 5 minutes. This will help to stop the cooking process and make the shells easier to remove.

Once the eggs have cooled to room temperature, gently tap the shell on a hard surface to crack it, and then roll the egg between your hands or on the counter to loosen the shell further.

Start peeling from the larger, rounder end of the egg where the air pocket is typically located. As you peel, try to get under the thin membrane that lies between the shell and the egg white.

This membrane will help you to release the shell more easily. If you’re still having trouble peeling the eggs, try running them under a gentle stream of cold water as you peel.

The water can help to separate the membrane from the egg white, making the process smoother. Remember to be patient and gentle while peeling, as applying too much pressure can cause the egg to break off in spots and become misshapen.

Best Way To Dice Eggs

While you can use a knife to dice eggs, an egg slicer is the easiest and most efficient tool for the job. Simply place the peeled egg in the slicer and slice in one direction.

Then rotate the sliced egg 90 degrees and slice again to create evenly diced pieces. Now the eggs are ready to be made into egg salad! But not just ordinary egg salad.

How Deviled Egg Salad is Different Than Standard Egg Salad

Deviled Egg Salad sets itself apart from standard egg salad with the addition of Dijon mustard, white wine vinegar, and paprika. These ingredients give the salad a unique, tangy flavor profile that makes it a delicious twist on the classic recipe.

And if you already have leftover deviled eggs, you can certainly turn them into egg salad as well. However, you may need to add a little more dressing and spices to make sure the mixture is perfect.

Ways to Serve Egg Salad

Once you have your egg salad prepared it can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Serve it on a bed of lettuce for a low-carb meal or serve it as a sandwich or in a bun for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner meal.

But don’t stop there. Whenever you need a quick snack to get you through to the next meal, spread it on crackers or inside celery stalks. You can also stuff it into hollowed-out tomatoes and in mini bell peppers for a creative and tasty presentation.
