If you are looking for a quick and easy main dish recipe that requires just a few ingredients you are going to love this Easy Ranch Pork Chops recipe. Perfectly seasoned pork chops that are prepared in less than 5 minutes and ready to eat in only 30 minutes!

This is one of those recipes that I like to have on hand on a busy weeknight. However it is also one of my go-to recipes when I don’t know what to make for dinner.

That is because even though it only takes a few minutes to prepare, the meat tastes amazing! Although there are a few tips to making sure that the chops don’t turn out dry and tough to chew.

Choosing the Right Pork Chops

When it comes to baking pork chops there is a common concern that bone-in pork chops will take longer than boneless. However, when tested over and over again, the truth is that they both cook in almost the same exact amount of time.

Therefore, you can purchase either one to make this easy Ranch Pork Chops recipe. However, the key to baking them in the given time below is based on the thickness of the meat, not the bone itself.

Aim for pork chops that are 1 inch thick, whether you choose boneless or bone-in chops. Save those super thin pork chops for pan searing cooking recipes like this Parmesan Crusted Pork Chops as they will cook in minutes.

The Ranch Seasoning

Although bone in pork chops will provide you with the most flavor, the real star of the show is the Ranch dressing. Pork is bland in nature and will take on whatever seasonings or the flavor of the sauce that it is cooked with.

Therefore it is important to use seasonings that you enjoy. And who doesn’t enjoy the flavor of dry Ranch seasoning?

Even if you don’t like the creamy dressing, the spices in a packet of dry Ranch dressing mix is a favorite among many. Not to mention the pre-made mix is a huge time-saver when it comes to making quick and easy dinner recipes.

This is why I keep a container of the mix in my spice pantry. It is great to have on hand at all times and I never have to worry about wasting a half-used packet when making recipes for two.

Preparing the Pork Chops

Making this Ranch Pork Chops recipe is about as easy as it gets. Begin by patting the pork chops dry with paper towels.

Ranch dressing mix

Then in a small bowl add the Ranch dressing mix, olive oil and dried parsley. Mix until combined.

Then liberally coat each chop with the mix, making sure to cover all sides. The seasoning not only provides great flavor but also forms a nice crust as the chops cook.

The Searing Process (Optional)

If you are looking for a perfect golden crust, sear the pork chops in a hot skillet before they go into the oven. This step will help lock in the juices and develop a flavorful outer layer.

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side, or until a beautiful golden-brown color is achieved.

Although this makes for a beautiful presentation, I most often skip this process and put the pork chops right in the oven. Not only does it save me time, the pork chops still turn out nice and juicy every time.

Bake Time and Temperature

Because of the lean nature of pork chops, they are best cooked quickly and at high temperatures. Therefore bake them at 425°F (220°C) until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

Remember, cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your chops and your oven. For 1 inch pork chops (bone-in or boneless) it should take 15-20 minutes for them to be cooked through.

However the only true way to know when to pull the Ranch Pork Chops out of the oven is to use an instant read digital meat thermometer.

For the juiciest pork, take the meat out of the oven as soon as it hits 140°F.

Let The Pork Chops Rest

Once you take the Ranch Pork Chops out of the oven you must allow them to rest. Do this by covering the meat with foil and let them sit, undisturbed for 4-5 minutes.

This will allow the meat to finish cooking to the safe consumption temperature of 145°F. However it will also allow the juices to redistribute, ensuring moist and tender meat.

Serving Suggestions

While the pork chops are in the oven it is time to prepare some a side dish or two to serve them with. Keep it simple with classic sides like mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a crisp salad.

The ranch seasoning pairs well with a variety of dishes so choose your favorite. And if you are looking to keeping your meal light and easy, go with the classic side dish of applesauce.

How To Store Leftovers
